oceannoisemap.com is a demonstrator tool conceived for anthropogenic noise monitoring and management. It is based on sound propagation modelling techniques in the underwater environment. Ships are used as noise sources in the propagation model. The transmission on sound from sources is a function of several environmental factors: water temperature, salinity, depth, and seafloor type. Oceannoisemap can work in real time or analyse historical data. The real-time engine provides instantaneous noise conditions with a regular time step of 10 minutes. On the other hand, historical data analysis enables obtaining noise statistics over a period.
